The Rogue Valley Chorale is excited to be collaborating with the choirs of Southern Oregon University for our spring concert, Master Miniatures. Joined by SOU’s Concert Choir and Chamber Choir, a chorus of 140+ will fill the stages of the Craterian and SOU Recital Hall to present a concert of shorter-length masterworks accompanied by chamber orchestras of varying instrumentation. The concert will feature Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramírez, a Spanish-language mass based on Latin American folk songs and dances; the soaring melodies of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music; and the West Coast premieres of Evan Mack’s The Cure at Troy; Adolphus Hailstork’s tour de force cantata Shout for Joy; and the rarely performed Festival Jubilate by Amy Beach.
