Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon

Concert Series performances present accomplished young string, brass, woodwind, and percussion musicians from throughout the region. The musicians in the Youth Symphony (advanced symphony) and Youth Orchestra (preparatory orchestra) deliver masterful performances of standard repertoire, concerti, new and commissioned music, film and opera scores, and orchestral arrangements. Youth Symphony Concerto Competition winners are featured soloists with the Youth Symphony. Music Director & Conductor Cynthia Hutton, D.M.A., leads the musicians. Dr. Hutton celebrates her 30th season with the YSSO in 2024-2025.

Audiences will be impressed by the interpretive, technical, and performance skills of the musicians, as well as their commitment to excellence. YSSO concerts contribute to the Rogue Valley’s vibrant performing arts scene as well.
