2009-10 Concert Schedule

The Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon’s dedicated young musicians perform classical music for orchestra with skill, enthusiasm and a passion for excellence. Founded in 1988, the mission of the YSSO is to provide exceptional performance experiences under the leadership of professional conductors and music coaches and to foster a lifelong appreciation of classical music and the arts. Next year marks the YSSO’s 22nd season of performances for Southern Oregon audiences.
Concert Series performances feature the musicians in each of the three YSSO ensembles: Youth Symphony, Youth Orchestra and Youth Strings. The ensembles include young musicians (ages 8-23) from throughout the region who present masterful performances of standard orchestral literature and concerti, as well as arrangements for preparatory orchestra and string ensemble. Audiences of all ages will be impressed by the technical and interpretive abilities of the musicians, as well as their musical and performance skills.
Winners of the YSSO’s Concerto Competition are featured as soloists with the Youth Symphony during each concert season.
